Disney has created an earthquake by tweaking its release schedule, adding a new 'Star Wars ' movie and
a live-action adaptation of 'Moana ' to its schedule and pushing the next three ' Avatar ' movies from
one year to three in the case of the latter. Thus, the fifth trip to Pandora will be released in 2031 , in no
less than eight years, for those with long-term plans, according to Variety .
Three years apart in many cases
Now the 'Moana' remake will be released on June 27, 2025; ' Deadpool 3 ' goes from November 8, 2024
to May 3, 2024 ; an untitled 'Star Wars' movie, whether Taika Waititi's or Rey's new one , is set to be
released on December 18, 2026; 'Avatar 3' has been moved to December 19, 2025; 'Avatar 4' goes to
December 21, 2029 and 'Avatar 5' until December 19, 2031 . Let James Cameron take us confessed.
According to this timeline, the latest 'Avatar' movie will arrive 22 years after the original 2009
blockbuster. Other changes include a massive shakeup of everything coming from Marvel .
' Captain America: Brave New World' will move from May 3, 2024 to July 26, 2024 , which in turn will
push ' Thunderbolts ' to December 20, 2024 , 'Blade ' to February 14, 2025, ' Fantastic Four ' as of May
2, 2025 . ' Avengers: Kang Dynasty ' is delayed a whole year, from May 2, 2025 to May 1, 2026 ; Grab
the chair of ' Avengers: Secret Wars' , which will jump from May 2, 2026 to May 7, 2027.
The addition of ' Star Wars ' in December 2026 would mean that two films in the saga will be released
that year, since a premiere has been moved from December 19, 2025 to May 22, 2026, while another
film is on the way. scheduled for December 17, 2027. Disney has not clarified what the plots of those
installments are .
Production delays are part of the reason behind the release plan revision. The postponed filming of
'Blade' and 'Thunderbolts' have caused a domino effect probably contributed to by the Hollywood writers' strike .
